Backstory
I first met the film’s writer and director, Gwen Wynne, while working on the ABC Television Special, The Story of Mothers & Daughters. She became an early supporter and producer of my film, TYRUS and, in turn, I wanted to support her filmmaking efforts. Wild About Harry was her directorial debut and told the remarkable and very personal story of growing up in a same-sex household during the 1970s - a time when homosexuality was classified as a mental illness and the threat of children being removed from their homes was real and legal. I felt it was a dramatic and poignant story and uniquely told from the perspective of children of a gay parent. I wore many hats in my role as Executive Producer – from the many standard producing duties (from script to post) to directing second unit footage and the film’s EPK.
